WHY DOES KENNY TRIPLETT THINK HE IS BETTER AND DESERVES MORE THAN YOU?

At the Akron Union Meeting on August 8, 2005 , Pat Kohl, Candidate for President of Local 18 and Executive & Advisory Boards of District 6, asked District Representative Steve DiLoreto how much his pension totaled. His response was he wasn't sure. Steve is a 30 year member and has been on staff of the union for over 10 years and he doesn't know what his pension is???? Scary and he is representing us? So I said I would help him figure it out. First , all members of Local 18 get $3 an hour paid into their pensions. For union staff that is at 50 - 55 hours a week. So that would total a MINIMUM of $7800 a year ! Then I said there is their second pension into the Central Pension Fund of $1.25 an hour. I was quickly corrected by Steve that it was only $1 an hour. Funny, he just said he wasn't sure what his pension was. So ok, $1 an hour would be another MINIMUM of $2600 a year into that pension. Then I asked about their third big pension, the International Pension Fund. I asked what that was and again, he wasn't sure. So after some prodding, he admitted that it was 10% of his gross! So his gross being over $90,000 a year would be a MINIMUM of $9000 ! Now that totals a MINIMUM of over $19,000 a year. If you take conservative numbers that would be an agent worked for the union only 15 year MINIMUM pension of $120,000 a year ! Keep in mind that does NOT include the other years they worked in the field before becoming an agent. Like most of you, the most we could hope for is $6000 a year going into your pensions! This is all very disturbing but what was worse is that your appointed president Kenny Triplett stood up and said he was not ashamed of having three pensions because he worked 60 to 70 hours a week and he deserves it! Brothers and sisters, most of us have worked 60 to 70 hours a week in all types of conditions, not in an air-conditioned office and driving an air-conditioned Cadillac and we sure as heck did not get three pensions. So call Kenny Triplett and ask him why he thinks he is so much better than all of us and certainly deserves more?
